A week or two ago I posted a sampler from this J. Period and K'Naan collaboration dedicated to Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, and Bob Dylan. This is the first installment, focusing specifically on Fela Kuti. I'm not gonna lie, I had to look him up too. He was a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, pioneer of afrobeat music, human rights activist, and political maverick. I've checked out some of his music, and it's pretty good. Will look more into him and spread some knowledge.
